For many men and women who suffer from hair loss, it can be an issue that is serious to the point of undermining their self esteem and confidence in their appearance. The most common cause of "natural" hair loss or thinning in both men and women is dihydrotestostrone or DHT. Reason for Hair Loss

In men and women balding occurs when there is too much androgen produced by the body. Androgen builds up and turns into an enzyme, dihydrotestostrone or DHT. Minoxidil works against hair loss by blocking DHT. Consequently the hair follicles cannot be killed off by DHT. So the hair follicles are then able to get on with their natural function of growing hair. By eliminating the formation of DHT the hair is free to grow.

Minoxidil not only works when you have already experienced hair loss, but also works to help with thinning hair. It will reverse balding and allow hair to regrow, healthy and strong again. It can also help to fight hair loss when a person may have a genetic history of baldness.

When choosing products that treat hair loss, you should look for products that contain Minoxidil as one of their main ingredients. Based on many clinical trials Minoxidil has proven effective in stopping hair loss and importantly stimulating hair regrowth. Do not trust false claims that say products without Minoxidil will be just as effective because they will not.
